      Homeschooling

These are the homeschooling materials I currently use:

      Preschool:

      Kindergarten and up:

      For Phonics/English/Spelling/Writing:
Queen Homeschool is a simple curriculum I use,  and yet teaches what I feel my girls need to know in this subject.  It teaches reading, nouns, verbs, writing skills, etc.  It’s what we really like! :)

For Phonics, I like to use Phonics Pathway in addition to the Language Arts mentioned above.  While Language Lessons {Queen Homeschool} does teach phonics, I felt that my girls needed something to add to it, so we read through this book as well and it has really boosted their reading ability – just something I found with good reviews on Amazon:

For math, I use Math U See from Pre-K through 2nd grade.
From 3rd grade up, I like Teaching Textbooks.

      For art:
I LOVE the Apologia Science! It is the most fun Science we have ever done! Some of the textbooks may use a different version of the Bible for a copywork page, and since I am KJV, I just don’t do the copywork pages because they get a lot of copywork practice in Language Lessons:  I have had a few people say the Botany book is boring with Apologia Science, so I’m not sure if I’ll use that book – it may just be their opinion – but the other books are great!  I always hated Science in school, but this is fun :)

      History:

      Herbal Education

Many have asked me about becoming a certified herbalist.  I received a certificate from the School of Natural Healing.  I chose this school because they offer good material and the best price I found for becoming a certified family herbalist.

You can learn much on your own and it is not necessary at all to become an herbalist, but if you would like to take your learning a step further, then consider it! :)

I always share that I am not religiously affiliated with The School of Natural Healing.  I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, and the beliefs of the school are contrary to mine.  Although they do NOT teach you specifics about their religion, I feel the need for this disclaimer.

The good news is, if you would like to become a Certified Family Herbalist through The School of Natural Healing, they offer $100 off your enrollment if you enroll through my website! :-)

There is also Shonda Parker’s school.  She is a Christian and her material is supposed to be very good.  To become a certified herbalist, her price is a couple hundred more than The School of Natural Healing, so this is why I didn’t choose hers.  You can check it out though!
