Homemade Sauerkraut

Ingredients

  • 1 Head of Cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons Sea Salt
  • Mason Jar

Directions

Step 1
Wash the cabbage and remove outer leaves.
Step 2
Shred or cut cabbage into thin strips.
Step 3
Place cabbage in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of sea salt and mix.
Step 4
Pack cabbage into a mason jar tightly.
Step 5
Cover cabbage with water, leaving a 2 inch head-space.
Step 6
Place jar in a cabinet for at least 6 days.
Step 7
After 6 days, place jar in the refrigerator to keep for at least 9 months.
Step 8
Eat at least a spoonful of cultured vegetables a day. More is better. Drink up the juice too!
