We love no-bake cookies! I typically make them with the whopping 2 cups of organic sugar the original recipe calls for. I was thrilled to come across these maple syrup no-bakes that uses a healthier sweetener, less of it and has a different taste for a change.
Maple Syrup No-Bakes
5 tablespoons cocoa powder
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cups oats
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine maple syrup, butter, cocoa and cinnamon in a pan. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop on wax paper to cool.
Another variation:
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups oats
{These taste more peanut buttery ~ we like them both ways!}
{Original No-Bake Recipe)
(We still occasionally make them this way also)
1/2 cup butter
2 cups organic sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
3 cups quick oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix together sugar and cocoa. Place butter, milk, and cocoa mixture in pan. Bring to boil and boil for 4 minutes. Stir in oats and vanilla and drop on wax paper to cool.
Enjoy!

Yummy… they look really great! I have a question: Do you make your own maple syrup or you buy it from stores?
I will try your recipe and I want to know if you’ve tried this syrup: http://www.canadathestore.com/products/pure-canadian-maple-syrup-1l. From what I’ve read it taste good, but I want to be sure… to make some great cookies 😀 Thank you – Melanie 🙂
