Natural Insect Repellent Recipes

Summer is such a fun time of year, but dealing with pesky bugs and potentially harmful bites is not!

Using commercial bug spray that contains the toxic chemical DEET is no option for my family, so here are a few easy and quick bug spray recipes that you can safely mix up and keep on hand.
Recipe #1:

5 drops lavender oil
5 drops lemon oil
3 tablespoons vanilla extract

Combine all above ingredients into a spray bottle.  Fill bottle with half water and half witch hazel.  Shake before each use.

Recipe #2:

15 drops lavender oil

Fill a spray bottle with half water and half witch hazel.  Add essential oils and shake well.  Shake before each use.

Do you make your own bug spray?  I would love to hear your recipe!

Just popping in to say, ‘Hi’! I hope you and your family are doing very well in the Lord ๐Ÿ™‚
I have made variations of both of these. I also like Rosemary or Tea Tree added. I find that Vinegar of the 4 Thieves still works the best for us, but we smell a bit like salad dressing ๐Ÿ˜‰
