Relaxing with peace can sometimes be the most challenging part of being a homemaker. I work fulltime, but I am still my home’s homemaker. At times it is difficult to be at rest or complete peace when taking a break at home with so much I want to do.

I love homemaking. Hospitality tends to be the one area I struggle with the most. I want to do it and have a delightful time while it is happening, but the work it takes to be a blessing to others can often really drain me.

I hate the feeling that I have to choose between time with my children and completing the “never-ending” list of things that need to be completed. It is tough balancing just the right amount of time homeschooling, keeping house, being mom, and wife, etc. There is seldom time left in my day to just be me.

It is tough for me too. I’ve decided that our homeschool days have to take place 6 days a week. With the different activities we have throughout the week, we don’t always get a full day in. I try to make sure we have 2 full school days in a week, and the others 4 days consist of doing a subject or two or three a day to make sure we get it all done. This has helped me balance my housekeeping, homeschooling, activities, cleaning jobs, and writing. I discovered that if I tried to get full school days in 4 days in a row like I used to, my house suffered terribly because of the other activities that fill the days. I have accepted that it’s OK if we do school on Saturdays. This helps keep up with the housework and my writing throughout the week. Flexibility is important for those with a lot on their plate. I also try to have some down time in the evenings about twice a week reading or watching a good Hallmark movie with my girls. Relaxing every now and then and getting away from it all helps.

The area of homemaking I find most challenging is getting my girls to pick up after themselves. From the moment they wake up to the moment they go to sleep they are two little hurricanes through our small space. I would love to get them to be more responsible. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

Out of all the items, which are very awesome, I’d enjoy the tupperware the most. I think I find that I’m too hard on myself regarding homemaking because both my husband and I are disabled, so there are a lot of days that we just aren’t able to “do”. It is so frustrating knowing how I used to be, and knowing what things are like now. 🙁
