Cherry Stones: An Ancient Remedy

The pit of a cherry has more value than just being a cherry seed, it was used many years ago by Swiss factory workers as a remedy.  After fire embers caused house fires and severe burns when used as a heating device to warm their bodies and beds, these factory workers were thrilled to discover that cherry stones retain heat on their own without causing a fire.  They began to sew these cherry stones into bags and leave them on the stove at work all day to be ready to use at the days end for their aches and pains.  They also brought these bags home to their families to heat their beds and soothe their aches as well.

ECOtex is a company that has produced several cherry stone products for both hot and cold use.

One of the main things I love about these products?

I can heat them in my oven!!

Most heating pads require the microwave {which I don’t have}, and I was so thrilled when I discovered that I could heat these products in the oven!

These cherry stone products don’t just retain heat, but are great for cold compresses too!  Simply place the product in the refrigerator or freezer for 20-60 minutes.  Let’s take a look at some of these cherry stone products!

This design is incredible! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

It's a good idea to plant them right before a rain so the rain can help spread and germinate the spores.
