I don’t like to admit that I have fleas in my house right now, but I DO! Things like this happen to the best of us. We actually don’t have any animals in our house, so I assume we carried them in on our clothes. I have a plan to get rid of these pests this week. I certainly don’t want to use toxic bombs or products that are not safe for my family. I have two things on the agenda – water and salt. Sounds pretty safe to me! ๐
Here’s what I did last night that took care of several of them~
I put warm water and dish soap in a bowl on the floor, and placed a lamp next to it. Fleas are attracted to light. When they jump towards the light, they land in the bowl and drown. This morning, I found several fleas (and a few other insects) in the bowl. While this method will not get all the fleas, it took care of several that would have been biting us this morning! I’m keeping this lamp on and putting fresh warm water and dish soap from time to time to drown as many of these jumping critters as I can! I’ll update you when I’ve completely conquered them, and share what else I did! I’m also going to work on ridding the animals of fleas!
Unlike me, I hope you’re having a pest-free day! ๐

We sprinkle Borax all over the carpets, take a broom and sweep it in as well as you can, and then don’t vacuum for a week. It has worked like a charm for us for many years and we have cats that go outdoors!

That’s the method I’m using, except with salt instead of Borax. I’ll let you know how it goes! ๐ Thanks for sharing!
