How To Make A Plantain Vinegar

I have previously in my Natural Remedy For Acne Post, explained how to make a plantain tincture using apple cider vinegar.  I just recently made a plantain tincture to use for the winter and decided to make a video.  Pictures are great, but a video really helps me understand what to do.  I still have people that ask – what is plantain anyway????????  Trust me, you have it growing somewhere near you, unless you reside in the middle of a busy city – even then, you could probably find it in the cracks of the sidewalks – not that I would recommend consuming plantain that’s been stepped on and exposed to pollution, though. πŸ™‚      Warning – this video is not professional in the least. πŸ˜‰
The things you need are:
*A jar
*Apple Cider Vinegar
You can buy Apple Cider Vinegar in a gallon size or a 32 oz.  I always buy the bigger size for savings, and because I use the vinegar for many other things as well.
*Plantain
You can buy dried plantain, but remember to fill the jar halfway with dried herb and to the top with fresh herb, then fill the vinegar to the top.

~It is really this simple to make a tincture – and it saves so much money to do it yourself! πŸ™‚

Ha ha! I’m definitely not a professional with the video thing! πŸ™‚
Plantain can look a little different depending on the area of the country you live. As long as it’s plantain – it’ll be fine! πŸ™‚

We are going to use a tincture on my 16 year old daughter’s face. She has acne and pimples, and nothing has worked. I was wondering if you use a cleanser before this on your face, if you use this like a toner. We are using dried plantain. How long should it sit before it’s ready? Also, we didn’t fill up the jar with plantain, but I think we did more than half way. Will it be too strong for her face? Hoping this helps!

I did use a cleanser before I used the tincture. My favorite is an oatmeal honey handmade bar of soap to cleanse and then I applied the tincture. Do not wash the tincture off until the next morning and then reapply. Apply the tincture at least twice a day. If your daughter wears makeup, I wore makeup over the tincture each morning once it dried and was fine – the tincture smell isn’t strong after it dries.
With dried plantain, you fill the jar up halfway. If you did more than half, let it sit for about 2 or 3 weeks, shaking every day.
This WILL cause her face to break out worse for 2-3 weeks, or longer, depending on how bad she has acne. This is good (though it seems horrible!) because the plant is drawing out the toxins that are causing the acne, which it’s always best to get to the root of the problem. Be consistent and determined. πŸ™‚
Another HUGE thing that will help her is to eat as much of a wholesome diet as possible and to cleanse. Read the posts in my cleansing label section – I highly recommend she do the Detox+ as is instructed, and to do benonite clay baths about once a month or once every other month for a year or so, and then more occasional. Blessings to you all – I feel your pain!!! Let me know if I can be of further help, and thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚
