The Reasons I Don’t Get A Flu Shot

Many, many people stand in line this time of year for a flu shot.  My family, however, chooses to forego this popular activity, and I’ll explain the reasons why.

The Reasons I Don’t Get A Flu Shot

Studies have never proven the flu shot as being an effective way to not get the flu~

There are many strains of flu that can go around during flu season, and a flu shot only covers a few of those strains of flu.  Dr. Tom Jefferson, who is a British epidemiologist and heads the vaccine research for Cochrane Collaboration, is quoted in the British Medical journal as saying, “The vaccine doesn’t work very well at all. What you see every year as the flu is caused by 200 or 300 different agents with a vaccine against two of them. That is simply nonsense.”
Getting plenty of sleep, exercising, reducing stress, eating nourishing, unprocessed foods, limiting sugar and junk food goes a long ways to helping you not get the flu.

In my opinion, the toxic ingredients contained in the flu shots are worse for our bodies and long-term health than actually getting the flu~

In 2010 the country of Australia banned the flu shot for children under the age of 5 because of the adverse reactions reported (fever, vomiting and convulsions).

Here is a 2011 list of the different flu vaccines and their ingredients from Wikipedia:

(culture media)

Influenza vaccine (Afluria) Chicken embryo Beta-Propiolactone, Calcium Chloride, Neomycin, Ovalbumin, Polymyxin B, Potassium Chloride, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Taurodeoxychoalate.
Influenza vaccine Chicken embryo Egg Albumin (Ovalbumin), Egg Protein, Formaldehyde or Formalin, Gentamicin, Hydrocortisone, Octoxynol-10, á-Tocopheryl Hydrogen Succinate, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Deoxycholate, Sodium Phosphate, Thimerosal[3]
(Fluarix)
Influenza vaccine (Flulaval) Chicken embryo Egg Albumin (Ovalbumin), Egg Protein, Formaldehyde or Formalin, Sodium Deoxycholate, Phosphate Buffers, Thimerosal
Influenza vaccine (Fluvirin) Chicken embryo Beta-Propiolactone , Egg Protein, Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Polyoxyethylene 9- 10 Nonyl Phenol (Triton N-101, Octoxynol 9), Thimerosal (multidose containers), Thimerosal[3] (single-dose syringes)
Influenza vaccine (Fluzone) Chicken embryo Egg Protein, Formaldehyde or Formalin, Gelatin, Octoxinol-9 (Triton X-100), Thimerosal (multidose containers)
Influenza vaccine (FluMist) Chicken kidney cells, chicken embryo Chick Kidney Cells, Egg Protein, Gentamicin Sulfate, Monosodium Glutamate, Sucrose Phosphate Glutamate Buffer

It would take me way too long to go over individual ingredients and their possible side effects, so I’ll just list some of the possible side effects from some of these ingredients:
Significant respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms, seizure, allergic asthma , decreased appetite, increased mitochondrial encephalomyopathy, partial facial paralysis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Bell’s palsy, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, herpes zoster [shingles].

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather get the flu than expose my body to these toxins and their possible side effects!

What do I do to try to keep the flu bug away besides exercise, eat healthy and get enough rest?  I make my own flu medicine with an herb God created and made available to us.  It is a very effective immune boosting herb and is especially great to fight and treat the flu.  I will share that tomorrow, my friends, and I hope you’ll join me! 🙂

Thanks for being bold enough to share this. We do not get vaccinations, this one included, but I know there are many people who just don’t know what you have shared here. I’m sure it will be a blessing.

We forgo the flu shot as well and opt for a more natural way of staying healthy during flu season. Thank you for the information.

I LOVE doing whatever we can naturally so I’ve also been skeptical about the flu shot but got my first one last Fall. The main reason I did, although overall I am a “healthy” person, the prior year I got the flu and was miserable and bedridden for a whole week. With that, the flu caused an ear infection that left me with permanent nerve damage in my ears. I spent many weeks in desperation, ear tests and doctor visits, before that diagnosis was made. It was a horrible experience that I don’t want to repeat. I guess it comes down to choosing between the lesser of the two evils. I do appreciate, agree, and respect your post. It’s a tough choice! One I will need to consider each year.
